STICKY SESAME TOFU & VEGGIE RICE

This is one of the go-to quick and easy meals mid-week meals – it can be whipped up in under 15 minutes and is a great way to use up any veggies. It is so easy my boys (aged 10 & 8) can make it!
Suitable from 12m + but remove the baby portion before adding the honey and soy sauce then suitable for 6M+

Recipe:

250 gms rice
200 gms sugar snap peas (or broccoli or sweetcorn, peas, baby corn, or any veggies of choice)
450gms firm tofu
Soy sauce to taste
1-2 tblspns honey
4 heaped tablespoons sesame seeds (+ more to serve)
2 tablespoons sesame oil
2 tablespoons corn flour
2 spring onions

1️⃣ Boil rice as per instructions
2️⃣ whilst the rice cook, cut the tofu into cubes and toss in the cornflour
3️⃣ Heat 1 tblspn oil in a frying pan, add the tofu and cook a few minutes until crispy, add the soy sauce, honey, and sesame seeds and mix well until all the tofu is coated. It’s ready!
4️⃣ In another frying pan, pan-fry the veggies in a little sesame oil for a couple of minutes. Add the cooked rice, a little soy sauce to taste, and stir. Serve right away
5️⃣ Top the rice with tofu, Sprinkle on more sesame seeds & sliced spring onions to serve
6️⃣ Add a little sliced chili or crispy chili oil for adults
